I have been remiss in my Caturday duties, so here is several minutes of catty goodness to make up a bit of it...
I found it, I found it! I had been looking for this picture for quite some time of my little guys, from before they became the giant monster kitties they are today. I wish the picture was a little bit bigger though. For some reason this is as big as it gets. Sometimes I wish this was as big as the actual cats could get. Meh, oh well. I love my boys anyway...
For comparison, this is just two of them on the same round kitty condo now.
Because I have not transferred any new kitteh pictures to my 'puter, I am borrowing lolcat pictures. I am EVIL.

He looks quite noble here, but he follows me around like a puppy and gets so excited to see me that his whole body shakes. He knows my morning routine now and rushes ahead of me to stand where he knows I'll pat him on the head as I go by. The big adorable dork...
So we decided to get one.
The attached picture was one of the attempts. There were several more that look exactly like this. Hooray for digital cameras!
Maybe she's just shy...or depressed?
As it turns out, we also have very few pictures of her in the same frame as any of her brothers. In fact, only one, that I recall. This is chiefly because she hates them. Well, to be fair, she was here first; they sort of moved in and took over. Enough to make any territorial critter a bit moody, I suppose.
She sticks up for herself though. Despite being half their size she can still beat any of the big boys back into a corner when she's in the mood. Which is... always.
That's why her nickname is generally Grumpy Girl. Or Demon Cat - she is not declawed. But she's also Daddy's Girl; she loves my beloved and prefers his attention. She does like to sleep on my shoulder, though, often when I'm here at the computer. She purrs softly next to my ear and quickly sings me to sleep. If I could bottle her as a sleep aid....
So, we did finally get a picture or two of Demeter with her eyes open, by the way. This is the best one. I love her face.
All I can say is that it's a good thing that my cats don't really understand English, or they'd be scarred for life with the nicknames they've acquired over the years. Officially, the striped one is Magellan, also occasionally known as Mags or Maggie, but more often, Fat Boy (for obvious reasons) or Mama's Boy (because he is). Fat Boy is by far our largest cat.
The gray and white started out life as Triangle Head, or Tri, because.... well, it's hard to name even one cat, much less an entire litter. When we brought him home we named him Brodie, after Jason Lee's angry, obnoxious character in Mallrats. That turned out to be fairly appropriate. We also call him Whiney Boy, Needy Boy, PITA Cat, and The Little Bastard (because he is).
But they're so damn cute when they sleep!
Happy Caturday!
Since I have missed two Caturdays in a row and also to balance out the dog abomination from a few days ago, here are some cat pictures to get things back to normal.
This first one is the picture of our girl kitty, Demeter, after the Greek goddess of agriculture. Again, we didn't get to
name her, as she was adopted from a pet rescue when she was about a year or so old. But we liked the name, so we kept it - and, with her gold and cinnamon coloring, it seemed appropriate, anyway. Of course, as the dear hubby and I are both hybrid hillbilly-rednecks, we pronounce it all wrong: Duh-MEE-ter instead of the proper DEHM-iter. (Yeehaw, ya'll!) And, no, no one calls her Demi. She's quite small and delicate, especially in contrast to her GIANT adopted brothers. She's about three years older than the boys, but is only about half their size.
All five of those kittens could snuggle comfortably on that little round kitty
house, once upon a time. Now it's almost too small for just one. I know for certain, from his last vet visit, that the one with the solid face, Stoli, weighs in at about 16 pounds. He's the smallest of the boys...
Do three cats balance out one bulldog? They do if they come to about 40 pounds of cat!
Some of this little band of cuteness are mine. Every other one, as a matter of fact. The dark stripey fellow at the far left is Magellan. The middle one with the white triangle on his face is Brodie. The skinny little dude on the end is Stoli. They are My Three Sons, as it were...
This picture was taken nearly three years ago, though. They are...much larger now. Much. Larger. You'll see what I mean, eventually.
